Many years ago, we started as a technology support company. During those years, we setup backup systems for many business.

In the early days, we were just happy to get an office backing up their data.

Many times we’ show up an the process to backup their most important data was for somebody to copy files to a floppy disk. Later this same process became somebody “burning” the files to a CD.

Some offices would take this CD and place it in a “fireproof” cabinet…not understanding it isn’t the fire that will destroy a CD…it is the HEAT that will melt it.

Further progression happened as we setup offices with backup to external hard drives.

For the most part, this works great.

Then came all the Federal Regulations that make life complicated, whether it be HIPAA regulations, Sorbanes-Oxley or Gramm-Leach-Bliley, it was now time to take backing up computer data to the next level of being serious.
